Now You See It — or Maybe You Don’t: Amazing Ways To Fool the Eye

This is a fast-paced, entertaining slide talk about how artists, magicians and others (including forms in nature) have benefited from the use of such illusions as skewed perspective, deceptive resemblance, and other ways to fool the eye. The talk is illustrated by a wide range of curious visual examples, both historic and contemporary, from distorted rooms to hidden figures to anamorphic street art—an example of which is the Great Dysart Gorge, which is currently on view on Main Street in Dysart.
