Anamorphosis is the intentional distortion of perspective. The unusual nature of the 3-D illusion is that the flat
surface is viewed from a single vantage point with a single eye and best viewed
through the lens of a camera. When viewed this way the flat image appears to be
dimensional. When viewed from above or from the side, the image looks like a
stretched out abstraction.
We would encourage viewers
to interact with the painted surface. Suggestions of how to pose as well as
where to pose will be given to help the success of the illusion. Viewers would
then photograph the interaction and post to social media and share with
friends. The execution as well as the finished project should attract much
media attention. The marketing ideas for these paintings are limitless. Both
children and adults of all ages will find the magic of these illusions
captivating. Who doesn’t like a little magic?
